The Lords Commissioners of
Her Majesty's Treasury have had before them your letter of 3rd inst: and a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong representing that two steam Fire Engines might be sent out to that Colony, the cost of one to be defrayed from the Local Revenue and of the other by the community.
I am to request that you will signify to the Secretary of State my Lords' approval of an expenditure of £898-2 from the Local Revenue upon this object - being moiety.
