dear Mr Doyler,
In
answer to
the enquiring made
as to the allowance
to you by the Duke of Buckingham to be made to the proposed Bishop for North China, I have to state that the Society agree by a Resolution given on the other side to allow Mr Hassell hence the present
salary of a Missionary. The salaries are paid in the
Currency of the
country at the usual rate of exchange
this double salary will amount to about £800. We
also
furnish a residence & pay travelling expenses
Under this arrangement the Hassell has expressed his entire
