Government has the intention of renewing their small coinage.

It may be worth enquiring if they are likely to require a supply of suitable Mint Machinery, such as could be recommended as being in good order and almost new, including every requisite for a Mint of 4 or 5 presses. Perhaps our Resident Minister, or Mr Mathew of the Board of Trade, could procure this information.

The Hong Kong machinery would be found particularly well adapted for any South American State, which wished to coin silver or copper.

I must leave it to yourself to judge whether it is worth while to endeavour to elicit information on this point through the Foreign Office Agents in South America. Perhaps an advertisement in the Times might be useful in drawing the attention of interested parties to the proposed sale.

I have the honor to remain

Sir,

Your obedient servant,

W. Graham
