are not allowed private practice - it is necessary that I should understand distinctly from Mr Bird whether he intendi returning to his duty here I cannot otherwise allow him
half pay
on leave - or perhaps
give him leave.
If Mr Bird does intend
to return he must not do so in
the hope of obtaining the Acting -Appointment of Suveyor Generals promotion otherwise _ because I think it will be easy to make some other arrangement better for the Dublin,
It is therefore necessary
that Mr Bird decide

course which he means to
