to CHINA and JAPAN, vis the Jethmus of Panama and San Francisco. THE WEST INDIA AND PACIFIC STEAMSHIP COMPANY (Limited) have made special arrangements with the Panama Railway Company and the Pacific Mail Steamship Company for the conveyance of Passengers, Specie, and Cargo between EUROPE, YOKOHAMA, NAGASAKI, SHANGRAI, and HONG KONG.
The next departure will be
From LIVERPOOL on the 20th August, intending to connect, at San Francisco, with the steamer leaving on the 14th October for Japan and China. The branch steamer to Shangbai calls at Nagasaki on both trips. It is expected that the communication will be monthly after these dates.
The Pacific Mail Company's steamers on the Chine station are large paddle-wheel reascia, of upwards of 3,000 tone register. The greatest attention has been givca to insure the comfort and convenience of pus- sengers by the vessels of all the connecting companica on this route.
Shippers will find this route cheaper and as expeditions as any mail service to the East.
