60. The Tenants have agreed to pay for the erection of a new wall between the Harbor Master's Office and Marine Lot 37.§. and 200 also 1050 feet in length, and the Tenants have with one exception agreed to build a new wall further seawards.
Tenders for the work are now being called for. Job 37 A c Beliveen Marine Lot.
7. If these schemes are carried out, the length of wall to be rebuilt for the cost of which arrangement's have yet been made will be reduced to 2700 feet. I am of opinion that this wall if of sufficient strength to resist a Typhoon cannot be built under $135,000.
I should mention that the Praya Wall West of the Harbor-Master's Office was so damaged by the Typhoon of the 8th September last that it received comparatively little further damage on the 18 instant.
8. Several breaches have been made in the Sea Wall between the Sailors Home and the Gas Works, the cost of matting these good, I estimate at $6000. The Eastern Praya Wall has suffered but little injury being protected by its position and by the tire-store in front of the greater part of it.
9. The Seawall in course of construction at Kowloon was so impaired by the previous Gale that it can be said to have received but little further damage.
