The Postmaster General can recommend any qualified clerk in his department who would be inclined to accept that appointment. Salary of £500 per annum with free passage for himself (and family if he has any) and half salary from date of embarkation.
One year's leave of absence after every six years' resident service and an allowance of one-third towards the cost of passages home from and out to the Colony after such leave has been granted, and annual vacation leave of eight weeks or sixteen weeks every second year on full salary.
Any Officer who may be appointed would have to act occasionally as Postmaster General of the Colony during the absence of his superior on tours of inspection.
