I trust, therefore, Your Grace will sanction the above arrangements; which though they do not exactly agree with the detailed expenditure set down in the Estimates for 1868, are nevertheless within them as to amount.

I cannot get assurance positively when the Stamp Office will be actually opened, or the Ordinance be proclaimed as coming into force, but Your Grace may assume that this date will not be later than the middle of next month, and may possibly be a week earlier. Mr Mitchell and the Survey Department are exerting themselves to the utmost.
