With the portion of the Parapet only being washed away by a heavy sea, or the wind: Between East Point and Wanchai the Praya has been much damaged by the sea washing over and through the Wall, the Wall itself however has not been much injured and the necessary repairs may be almost entirely carried out by the Chain Gang. Between Wanchai and the Eastern Market but little damage. The Sea Wall opposite the Esplanade has not been injured in any way.
341 Between the City Wall and Messrs Gillis' Pier the Chief damage consists of holes in the Praya. Adjoining "Nobong's" Pier however the Wall is washed down. The new wall between Miss Gibbs' Pier and the Pacific Mail Company's Premises has stood well, the Parapet only being injured by heavy waves passing over it.
