that I do not believe it
is within my authority to do so, and I need
hardly state that the long expected residue of the Material for starting the new
Stamp Ordinance was received, and it
will be
a month before any Revenue
can be
fully expected from that source, whilst
the arrangements connected with it have been rendered much more
complicated
and
difficult
by the loss of Mr. Kummies
I am
bringing
to Your Grace's wish or
that I should do so
to pay
arrears
of the Military
Contribution, especially as the transaction
would now cost 10 per cent interest

only on Saturday that you

In the event
the botany
remaining unproductive, the Stamp Ordinance will not raise the Revenue sufficiently to defray the ordinary expenditure, and pay the Military Contribution, whilst in the present state of the Treasury I cannot advise increased
