I have been instructed by the Court
of Directors to apply for official authorization to
open Branches of the Corporation
at Shaughai, Foochow, Yokohama and
Nagasaki
and agencies for Exchange
at Bombay
and Calcutta.
According
to Clause ... of
the Ordinance
for the Incorporation
and Settlement of the Corporation,
the Costs
of the above Branches
and agencies are not to be incurred without the Consent of
the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury,
for obtaining which, the Directors prefer
the favorable recommendation
of this Government, the Governor.
