The additional information supplied by the Surveyor General in his letter which formed the enclosure of my Despatch will, I trust, have been sufficiently explanatory for the Crown Agents, after communicating with Mr Rawlinson, to proceed in calling for Tenders.
I had not, then, deemed it necessary Mr Milson to send the drawings of what is required, as the making special patterns for the Sluice Valves and other work would entail considerable extra expense in the colony, and the enclosed explanation from Mr Milson confirms that opinion.
As Mr Bird, Assistant Surveyor General, will shortly arrive in England, Mr Rawlinson can obtain from him any further special information necessary; and I have thought it advisable not to occupy Mr Wilson's time with preparing detailed drawings, unless I learn that Your Grace, after receipt of my despatch of the 25th April, still considers them necessary.
