The Deed of Settlement of the Hongkong & Shanghai Bank Corporation
I have made some alterations in red ink in the Draft of the Deed of Settlement; subject to which it appears to me to be in conformity in every respect with the instructions of the Secretary of State.
I have amplified Article 12 by embodying in the form of a distinct Proviso the important requirement in relation to the Establishment of Agencies in India. The consent required by Her Majesty's letter of the 16th November 1864 is that of the Lords of the Treasury.
