The Opinion of the Hon'ble Attorney
General Julian Pauncefote.
The Government have
no power to comply with the request of the Chinese Magistrate communicated by Mr. Robertson, H.M.'s Consul. The Girl has been examined and objects to return to Canton, or to leave Hong Kong at present.
