You kim Chin states: I am a Trader. I was carrying rice and sugar from "Huong Kong" to "Hoi How" when attacked by a crew of 7 pirates. I had nine men, including myself, on board. Four of my men escaped by jumping into the water. The remaining five were taken by the pirates.
The pirates proceeded to "Hoi How", where they sold some oil which they had taken, and then went to Macao, where we arrived on 11th April. We were put into a Barracoon there. I was asked if I would go to Peru. On refusing, I was severely beaten.
I was not put on board of any foreign vessel.
