I am directed by the Duke of Buckingham & Chandos to transmit to you for the information of the Governor a copy of a despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong suggesting that the duty of conducting Crown land sales in that Colony should be transferred
15 Sept.
from an Auctioneer to a Law Clerk who should receive the fee of one percent usually paid to the Auctioneer on the amount realized at such sales.
