as to some Annamites kidnapped and confined in the Barraccons at Macao, which is entitled to unusual credit - as it is vouched

in part by the testimony of a

French Missionary resident at Thathang in Cochin-China from whence a fleet with treasure and tribute to Annam

was dispatched last February. That fleet

was attacked by Cantonese Pirates in sight of Father Perriere; the vessels taken and robbed and a number

of Annamites carried off - and subsequently transferred to two Macao Lorches who carried them to Macao, where some

were put in the Barraccons, and others shipped as Emigrants for the Savannah.

as usual in the

case of other refractory Emigrants, but are more important being vouched by the credit of the Reverend Father Rondina, head of the College of St Joseph
