On arrival at Havannah such Contracts are sold to the highest bidder, who may again sell them to some other party, and the sums which they fetch generally yield a large profit on the previous expenses, but it is manifest that the system is a new mode of Slave dealing, because practically the obligations of the Contract are all on one side, and the Coolie can have little reasonable hope of ever escaping back from the Havannah to his own country.
