and other Public Works.

A Travelling steam crane, or
Hoisting Engine is also included
in the Requisition. In the first
place this Engine will be used
in lifting large
Boulders or
Earth from the Puddle Trench
at the Reservoir Works, when this
work is completed the Engine
will be used on the Tramway in lifting large Boulders into the
Trucks
a service which is
MUCH
performed by Hand Labor and
found to be very tedious, many
thousand Tons of stone having
to be removed in this way.
When the Reservoir is finished
this machine will be found
highly useful in the development
of Causeway Bay and
other works which have
long
been deferred through
want
of means.
