I am unable however as yet to report that I have provided an adequate person to undertake his duties, though I will be able to do so in a few days.
A competent person to undertake provisionally his duties and also those of his assistant, Mr. Godbeer, S. Bird, Resident Engineer, was requested to take his office and was permitted to leave on the 10th instant.
