The facts
in the
present Case seem
undisputed. They are these: the Military Authorities have hired a house in Mosque Terrace which is occupied by Captain Laney
and his family solely as a house, and in no
way for public purposes
or
the transaction of public duties. He is
not bound to reside there but might, if
disposed, hire
any
other house and reside
in it without violating any regulation
or

applying therefore the principle of the aforesaid decisions to the facts of this Case, His Excellency is of opinion that he has no
legal authority to interfere, whilst at the
same
time he sees no
equity in favor of
the exemption:
