The point here involved and which periodically recurs is one in which I regret that I entirely concur with the views expressed by the Hon. Mr. Ball in his opinion to the Military Authorities when Acting Attorney General in April 1865.
It seems to me that the solution of the question is by analogy to be found in the Decisions upon the liability of Military Officers and other servants of the Crown occupying Crown property to the payment of Poor Rates in England.
