At present the Foreshore
in front of

Military property
is quite dry at low water and in a Sanitary point of view it
must be desirable to have
the land reclaimed.
The Foreshore is gradually increasing year by year not only from the action
of the tide but also from the silt which is carried
down from the Hills by the Military Nullah and
other drains.
Further this break in
the Praya is the only one
on the Four Miles of Sea Frontage
Had the ground been sold,
the land would long
have been reclaimed, and
the Public would pass from
East Point to Great George
without having to diverge into Queen's Road thereby
making a considerable
detour.
The object of the passage
near Lot 21 is to connect
Queen's Road with the future
Praya.
