I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellencies' Despatches of 9th January and 2nd February relative to the thirty-five shipwrecked Japanese seamen who were forwarded to Yokohama by Your Excellency in the British Ship Ariel.
The Japanese Ministers have thanked this Excellency, Sir Richard G. MacDonnell, C.B., Governor of Hongkong.
