I now beg to transmit that opinion and to explain that, at the date of my Despatch No. 118 of 4 September and for some subsequent time, A. Attorney General Sauncefote was absent on sick leave, being then most severely indisposed.

Ordinance 11 of 1866. Attorney General's Report.
By Ordinance No. 3 of 1858 Section 3, the Vacation of the Supreme Court commenced on the 20th of August and terminated on the 12th of October.
The following year, however, the period of the vacation (at the suggestion, as I am informed, of the then Acting Attorney General, Mr. Bridges) was changed by Ordinance No. 3 of 1859 and made to commence a month later, namely on the 20th of September, on the ground, as I understand, that at that later period of the year the weather is cooler and more...
