This Report and Estimate provides for planting with the purchase of trees the different roads in Victoria and Kowloon. Young Trees from ... owing to the postponement of the reclaiming of the Cricket Ground from Canton, the removal of the old Trees referred to in the last report has not yet been effected. The Banians/Branches, however, which will bear transplanting have been lopped off, clipped and will be removed in February, the filling in of the ground being now completed.
The Young Trees planted last year on the roads have flourished well. The Banians as usual are thriving better than the others.
During the present year it is proposed to plant the Praya from the Cantonments Eastward, and also to fill up all gaps in roads already planted.
The Trees in Robinson Road Kowloon are doing well, and will some five years hence form a handsome Avenue.
