I can only say being most anxious to afford facilities for obtaining supplies - provisions and water, and not to impose undue restrictions and that the conduct both of the Consul and the Captain of the "Mirce" made a most unfavorable impression on me - a display of underhand deceit in the first instance, followed by intemperate and unworthy impatience under circumstances, which most travellers have occasionally to encounter.
