His Excellency remarks that as the number of the Police must be completed, the present is apparently a good opportunity for securing the services of men abroad trained to Police duties, and doubts if so good an opportunity has ever previously presented itself. His Excellency remarks that the fact of the Indian Government having promised its assistance, as stated by Mr. Creagh, is a great advantage secured. His Excellency thinks that by a slight extra cost it will not be difficult to retain here the men entitled to their discharge next April, till arrival of the promised British Contingent.
