acquaint you, for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon,
that, from the correspondence
before him, and more
especially from the enclosed
Copy of a report from the then
Commanding Royal Engineer,
at the station, Colonel Broughton R.E.
dated 15th September 1853 he is
led to believe the Southern
boundary of the Military Cantonments, as then agreed
upon, is & that defined by
the 500 feet Contour, which
is now shown on the plan
which accompanied your
letter
