With reference to Mr. Elliot's letter of 31st Ultimo, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon
that they approve of appointment of
a second Assayer to the Hong Kong Mint
at the same time
as the present Assayer is appointed.
Their Lordships also approve
of the appointment of
two Foremen Melters, on the terms
proposed, one of whom will
be in charge of the Vin & Roses 15.
