If the Hong Kong dollar is also fabricated of silver fineness, which is in every way the most convenient proportion as it is defined with reference to the quantity (already stated) of fine silver in the dollar.

IV. It can be fixed at or about 0.002 (two thousandths) of fine silver in each dollar above or below the Standard quantity of fine silver in the dollar already mentioned, to give a remedy with fineness intermediate between the remedies of the English and French Mints.

If the most general and likely to be permanent, then the weight of the dollar will be 0.873 ounce exactly (eight hundred and seventy-three thousandths of an ounce).

The remedy in fineness of silver is usually the same amount as the remedy in weight. The allowable range in weight for the dollar will therefore be two thousandths of an ounce above and the same below the Standard weight of each dollar.
