great inconvenience to Shipmasters to be obliged to convey home sick destitute Teamen - The duty is however one which cannot be avoided, but it is the desire of this Board that in providing for its performance every effort should be made to prevent its pressing unduly - The principle by which the Garner states that he is guided in such cases appears to this Board proper and humane, and the Arrangements as to Clothing are satisfactory. I am to add that in cases in which more than ordinary trouble and inconvenience are occasioned to the Ship in which men are so sent home the Board of Trade are always ready to consider the circumstances with a view to extra compensation.
