I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the
24th January last, forwarding a Despatch from the Officer administering the Government of Hong Kong relative to the rescue by the Hamburg Barque "Therese", "Ernest Denicke, Master, of the Master Crew and Passengers of the British Ship Parsee".
In reply I am to acquaint you for the information of Mt. Suretary bardwell that this Board have awarded to leaptain E. Denicke,
acknowledgment of his humanity to British Seamen in distress,
