Silver and Electro Plate Manufactory, Angel of E. C.
Sir,
Nov. 4th 1866.
I understand from apprentice George Baxter that he has applied to you for a situation as Melter under the Government. In answer to your request we are happy to say that without exception during his apprenticeship of Seven years he has proved himself honest, sober and industrious; he has been in our Foundry all that time and has had much experience in Silver and gold Melting.
We remain, Sir,
Yours very respectfully
(16) Edward Barnard & Sons.
George Baxter will conclude his apprenticeship on the 7 Decr next.

Nov 9 1888.
I have known G. C. Baxter from September 1869 until the present, and I can say confidently that during the whole of that time he has proved himself steady, industrious and intelligent.
He was apprenticed under me at the age of 14 to learn the business, viz., gold and silver casting & silversmith. His term of apprenticeship expires 7th Day of December, and in my opinion he is thoroughly acquainted with his business, and quite capable of taking the appointment for which he applies.
Should this prove satisfactory to you,
I remain,
Your respectful
D J. Curry
