British Colonial Governor has already provisionally approved this measure,

and the necessary proceedings

have already been taken for refilling the post, nevertheless I have to request that Your Excellency may be pleased to direct what may be needful to obtain the sanction of the Royal British Government to this provisional arrangement, and I shall be much obliged to Your Excellency for information that that sanction has been accorded.
