Mr. Bermudez de Castro in reply to a note addressed to him by Sir J. Pamplon, said that he had communication on this subject with the Minister of the Colonies in order that when the Treaty concluded between Spain and France be ratified, the Representative of Her Britannic Majesty in Pekin may unite his efforts with those of his colleagues in furthering the object proposed by Her Britannic Majesty's foot. He adds that the Spanish foot reserves to a later opportunity a communication of the resolution which may be adopted in this case.
