to transmit to you, to be laid before Mr Secretary
Cardwell
a copy of a Note from the Oldenburg
stating that
Consul General in London
M. Julius Menke
has been appointed
Oldenburg Consul
at Hongkong
and requesting that Her Majesty's Exequatur may
be issued to that gentleman to enable him to act in the
above capacity; and I am to request
Mr. Cardwell
to inform Lord Clarendon
if there is any objection to the issue of such Exequatur to
Mr. Menke
