I am directed by the Earl of Clarendon to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, that he has received a Note from the Mexican Minister at this Court stating that Mr George Oberbeck has been appointed Mexican Consul at Hongkong, and requesting that Her Majesty's Exequatur may be issued to that Gentleman to enable him to act in the above capacity; and I am to request that you will move Mr Secretary Cardwell to inform the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
