I am directed by the Earl of Clarendon to state to you, for the information of Me Secretary Cardwell, that on the receipt of your Letter of the 25th Ultimo His Lordship requested the Peruvian Minister at this Court to inform his Government that it would be more agreeable to that of Her Majesty the Secretary of State, Colonial Office.
