Referring to your letter of the 20th instant, in which the Crown Agents for the Colonies were informed that a Treasury Certificate for £5000 - transmitted by the Governor of Hong Kong in his despatch No. 149 of the 28th October last - had been forwarded to the Treasury, with a request that it should be taken as part payment of the recent advance of £10,000.,

allow me to suggest that the amount should first be placed to the credit of the account of the Crown Agents at the Bank of England and then be paid...
