With reference to your

letter

of the 1st instant I have to acquaint you for the information of the Earl of Carnarvon

that unless the claim of the Mint on the Government of Hong Kong for £13,000, adverted to in my letter of the 27 ultimo,

can be withheld from presentation for payment until remittances shall have been received from that Colony, which can hardly be looked for before the end of next month - certainly not before the end of this,

£10,000, which it affects from Mottram's letter to you of the 27...
