My dear,
You say you are nearly naked and would have been quite so if my sister and friend had not been so kind to you. You are in Bombay and at the Naval Yard, and I hope you will not stay there for long in that sickly place.
I hope you are engaged for a good length of time, but not for too long. My dear children and I are hoping that we shall be happy for the rest of our lives.
Oh, if you knew the sorrowful days and nights I have spent thinking of you and longing to see you again. I am anxious to hear from you.
Work in Sunderland is good, and the party that is here is Mr. James J. Smith. He was Chief Engineer of the "Pottinger" running between Hong Kong and Bombay for four years.
I shall send you a newspaper by this mail, and you must send your next letter to the address on this letter.
I remain,
My dear,
Dorothy March
