directed by
the Lords of the Admiralty to transmit herewith, for the information of the Governor

of letter, dated the 3rd Instant,
from Commodore Jouér
stating that he is not aware Yangtze
Steam Vessels having
been chartered by the Chinese Government for the suppression
of Piracy,
but that several
Mandarin boats are being prepared for that purpose.
