I now proceeded with one prize in tow to search for the remaining two which I took and burnt in the entrance of Siu Chan, the Crews escaping to shore. As I was coming up the towing hawser having parted while I was chasing the last of the vessels I was bringing to Hong Kong was left about this time astern and on my picking her up again I found the remainder of her Crew had been taken away & I suppose by fishing boats.
Later in the day I found a trading junk anchoring in inlet where crew told me there was a pirate and had robbed that vessel about two weeks before, and the Capt. and some of the men offered to come and give evidence both of whom I have brought to this port with the 12 prisoners.
I could learn nothing relating to the Case of Piracy onboard the Henry Darling.
