He is under very grave misapprehension as to the nature and extent of the "Communications made to the Colonial Government on this question." The enclosed Copy of a Survey plan, showing the exact limits of the proposed extension of W. D. boundaries, which had been approved by the Colonial Government, as stated in the report signed by the Acting Surveyor General, on the 6th July, 1865, must be held conclusive that the Colonial Government were not without information as to the exact nature of the plan recommended by the Military Authorities to the Secretary of State for War. The Major General concurs in the opinion that further discussion of these details will not, under existing circumstances, advance the interests of the Public Service, and he learns with much satisfaction that it is not the intention of the Colonial Government to allow but Government officials and members of the Yacht Club to use the intended wharf and jetty, till receipt of the decision of the Secretary of State on the whole question.
