At the time I remember that His Excellency appeared surprised at not having been made aware of any contemplated extension of the Military Wharfage, because such extension has never yet been considered as an acknowledged right: and I informed His Excellency that the subject, however, was not deemed very material at the time because I myself was under the impression that Colonel Lovell alluded only to an extension between the Government Wharf and the Military Nullah, a point considerably west of the proposed Pier.
I am still uninformed as to what the intended scheme is. The valuation of Messrs: Fletchers' property made by me in the year 1865 contains the statement referred to.
