Under these circumstances

the necessity became apparent of finding

some additional outlet to

the Beach from the Queen's Road-

inquiry

the Surveyor General reported the only procurable passage lie about half way to the end of the Cantonments by resuming some ground between the first gap in the line of Military buildings and two lots colored yellow on the plan- private property of Fletcher... Notice of resumption was recorded

given on the 12th October, terminating the 10th January, when by saying

the value of this ground resumed

as estimated by the Surveyor General,

the Crown would be entitled to resume it under the terms of Fletcher's lease, and subject to your

Lordship's approval it was my

intention to have paid the valuation.
