"On the evening of Tuesday the 11th Instant we visited the Gaol; at our request the Colonial Surgeon also attended, in order to give us the benefit of his medical experience and opinion; and in his presence we examined, one by one, each of the Chinese Prisoners who are at present disabled from working in consequence
