It being a term hit in upon paid to the

War Dept;

That the Lord of the Admiralty

should send out or

detach one Gunboat in consideration of that payment, from the Hongkong

Naval Command's place

under

it

the command

of the Governor.

That the Gunboat so

sent should be at the Governor's

disposal

and should be

under the

kept on

station at

Hongkong

for

the

keeping

of order within Hongkong

Waters

That if

the Admiral requires

the Gunboat for

operations beyond the

Colonial Jurisdiction, he should make requisition to the Governor In Council

who will be placed under general instructions to accede to such

a

request unless

in his opinion

there is

no justification

+ necessity for the

presence of the Gunboat then within the limits of the Colony.
