Specification for the Boreputum Reservoir

Above the site of the Embankment on a temporary dam is to be formed to stop the stream.

a bye channel cut through the spur the Dam and Channel to be kept in.

during the progress of the works Required for the embankment, and to be executed as follows.

At all lower - such points as shall be required the bed of the stream to be cleared & of rocks, and a trench formed 2 feet-deep 10 feet-wide and long the not exceeding 75 far Into the trench rough stone to be closely packed all interstices filled up with chippings, and the whole flushed up with Grout; making a solid bed for the dam.

The Dam to be built-up in rubble done in layers, the larger stones put on the faces and the centre closely packed with the Smaller stones, each layer will packed with chippings, and flushed up with good grout.

The Dam to have a perpendicular face on the up side of the stream, Twelve feet high To be perpendicular for four feet above the foundations on the lower face, then carried up at a slope.

The tops of Dam four feet-wide

The up face and top to be rendered in cement; and made smooth.
